Willow Tree Nursery's outstanding facilities

Here at Willow Tree Nursery, we have a good understanding of children's lives and their social contexts, basing our teaching around them. Supporting and encouraging personality development, autonomy and creativity are top priorities for us. Developing social interaction and understanding differences in others also plays an important role in our work. We also support you, the parent, in bringing up your child.

A rich and varied environment supports children's learning and development. Our outdoor play area reflects this and has been created to ensure activities that take place inside can be transferred outside, e.g. art and construction.

Willow Tree Nursery stands for educational specialists, wholehearted commitment and comprehensive child care. Increasing demands are being made on child care facilities, since all parents want the very best for their children, right from their very first learning experiences. In addition, there is now a marked trend towards intellectual education for children, but still children also need to play, move, get enough exercise and discover their own bodies.

Our nursery school achieves both objectives by offering space for moving around, plenty of opportunity for play and various facilities for creative activity.

Our outdoor area contains safety flooring, a bike track, a lawned area, climbing equipment, a herb garden, a pet’s corner and a cottage play house which is transformed into different role play areas e.g. a vets, post office, Santa’s workshop.

Within our lawned area we have installed a trim trail which leads to our outdoor bandstand. This links to a large wooden train and finishes with an undercover sand tray.

The children enjoy discovering mini beasts within our sensory garden and take great pride in growing plants and vegetables in our designated allotments.

Our under 2’s have a separate covered outdoor play area with age specific toys and equipment including a chalk board and natural play materials. The wooden cottage creates a cosy role play area.

We feel these facilities provide the opportunity to stimulate and encourage different areas of development especially physical skills. Our undercover areas allow the children to go outside in all weathers.
